Tickets are now on general sale for the 47th Walker Cup match being played between Great Britain and Ireland and the United States at Royal Liverpool (Hoylake) on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September 2019.
The biennial encounter will be staged at Hoylake for the first time since 1983 and GB&I will be bidding to win back the historic trophy after a 19-7 defeat to the United States at Los Angeles Country Club last year. The United States will be looking for a first win on this side of the Atlantic since 2007 when they won 12½-11 ½ at Royal County Down.
Fans will be able to attend the match for as little as £40 for an Adult Weekend Ticket and £25 for a Daily Ticket, while families are also being encouraged to attend with children under the age of 16 being admitted free of charge and reduced price tickets available for those aged 16-24 years old.

The beginnings of the Walker Cup can be traced back to Hoylake in 1921 when it was the venue for a match between amateur golfers from Great Britain and Ireland and the United States. The following year, the first official Walker Cup match was played at the National Golf Links of America in Southampton, New York.
The iconic links also has a notable history of staging championships and international matches. The Open has been played there on twelve occasions, most recently in 2014 when Rory McIlroy lifted the Claret Jug, while it has also hosted The Amateur Championship eighteen times. The Curtis Cup was played there in 1992 and the Women’s British Open in 2012.
The staging of the 47th Walker Cup in 2019 will coincide with Royal Liverpool’s 150th anniversary.
The USA team will be captained by Nathaniel Crosby, a fine amateur golfer who represented his country at Hoylake in 1983, and the son of entertainment legend, Bing Crosby.
