Merseyside Police is appealing for witnesses following two burglaries in the Higher Bebington area last night.
A report was received at around 6.25pm that a man had forced entry to a property in Town Lane, before allegedly threatening the occupant, a woman in her 40’s, with what was described as a knife. A short time later, a report was received that entry had been forced to a property in Carey Avenue, before the offender made off when he was disturbed.
Nobody was injured during either incident.
Officers attended and recovered a knife nearby in Town Lane, along with property believed to have been stolen.
CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Detectives are also asking for anyone who may have seen the man in the Bebington area last night to get in touch.
He is described as white, in his mid-30s, and wearing a light blue jacket, grey jogging bottoms and black Nike trainers.
Detective Inspector Mike Dalton said: “I know that a lot of people would have been out and about in the area around Town Lane and Carey Avenue trick or treating last night and may have seen this man or recognise his description. I would ask them to get in touch as soon as possible as they may have information which is vital to our investigation.”
