Merseyside Police has released CCTV stills of a man they would like to speak to following an assault in May at Heswall’s Paradox bar.

A report was received shortly after 12.20am on May 12 that an 18-year-old man had been struck in the face with a glass while on the dancefloor at Paradox on Pensby Road, causing a laceration to his lip and chin. He was taken to hospital where he required stitches.

Officers have released a CCTV image of one man they wish to trace, as he may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Do you know who he is?

Detective Inspector Brian O’Hagan said: “This was a shocking incident, and the offender who struck the victim caused him a very deep laceration to his lip.

“We want to speak to the man pictured as we think he may be able to assist the enquiry so I would encourage him, or anyone who recognises himself, to make himself known.

“We make consistent efforts alongside partners to ensure Wirral is a safe place to work, visit and socialise and I can assure people that will act on all information to identify those responsible and put them before the courts.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious that could help is asked to contact Merseyside Police social media desk via Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook Merseyside Police CC.
