Man dies after falling from M53 bridge

Merseyside Police has been in attendance on the M53 following the death of a man who fell from a motorway bridge.

A report was received at around 10.45 this morning expressing concern for the safety of a man who is then believed to have fallen from a bridge between Junction 2 and 3.

Emergency services attended and a man in his 40’s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s next of kin are in the process of being informed and an investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Road closures were put in place; however these have now been lifted.
