Police investigating Bebington unexplained death seek information

Merseyside Police has appealed for information following the unexplained death of a man in Bebington last night.

Emergency services were called to Old Chester Road at around 9.45pm after a member of the public found the body of a man on the pavement.

The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries remain ongoing to confirm the identity of the deceased man and establish the full circumstances. A post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death.

A scene has been preserved on Old Chester Road.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who has any information about this incident to get in contact. Anyone who was in the area between 8pm and 9.45pm and may have seen a man described as aged 40-50, white, with short brown hair, a pale complexion and wearing a green wax jacket, dark grey/black trousers and grey trainers, is also urged to get in touch.

It is likely that the male could have travelled by train to and from the Eastham area of the Wirral.
