[dropcap type=”circle”]W[/dropcap]e are approaching that moment in the British calendar when Wimbledon inspires thousands to pick up a tennis racket and hurl themselves around courts in search of perfect timing and down the line winners.
Not long afterwards the rackets are back under the stairs or in the bin and dreams of tennis triumphs have faded to nought.
But if you are someone new to the game who has what it takes to stick with it, or someone who’s played in the past and would like to stage a comeback, Heswall’s Pinewood Tennis Club is on the lookout for members.
The club, which caters for all ages and playing standards of both males and females, is situated in a quiet cul de sac just off Downham Road North, and offers four excellent tennis courts, a pavilion club house, a B-B-Q garden area, bar and refreshment facilities, and parking on site.
Pinewood Tennis Club has grown over the years to facilitate both social and competitive tennis. There are numerous Men’s and Women’s Teams which compete in both the competitive and local friendly leagues. Social tennis sessions are very popular, where players are always invited to join in and play doubles with other members.
Throughout the year several fun club events are held, such as the popular ‘American Tennis Tournament’ and other playing events which include all club members.
The club also provides coaching sessions for Junior and Senior players (beginners and improvers). These sessions are with Pinewood’s residential coach, who is a fully qualified LTA level 3 Coach, with DBS/Child Protection certification.
Private or individual coaching is available if requested.
If you’d like to know more about the club and membership please give Membership Secretary Lesley a call on 07540115481 – or click/tap here to visit the Pinewood website.
