Merseyside Police detectives are keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Arrowe Park Road at between 9.40pm and 9.55pm on Friday 12 May when a teenaged woman was the victim of an attack.

The 19 year-old had been walking along Arrowe Park Road, close to the entrance of Arrowe Park hospital, when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown male and thrown to the floor.

The woman was able to get free and run away along Arrowe Park Road in the direction of the Stirrup public house.

She has described her attacker as a white man, in his 30s, approximately 5ft 10in to 5ft 11in tall, bald with a ‘plumpy’ nose. He was wearing a dark coloured mismatched tracksuit top and tracksuit bottoms.

An investigation is currently underway and CCTV and forensic opportunities are being explored.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hampson said: “Arrowe Park Road is a busy road and a lot of traffic use it and the entrances in and out of the hospital.

“I would urge anyone who saw a man fitting the description or anyone acting suspiciously on Arrowe Park Road or near to the hospital to contact us.

“Thankfully the woman concerned was not injured but was left badly shaken by her ordeal and we want to find the person responsible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police on 0151 777 3291 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
