[dropcap type=”circle”]A[/dropcap] Channel 4 cookery show is seeking talented amateur chefs who want to show off their culinary skills and take the chance to win the ultimate prize of £10,000.
My Kitchen Rules UK is a competitive cooking series returning for its second series later in the year. It is based on a hugely popular Australian format which invites home cooks from across the country to open up their homes as restaurants and earn the right to say, “My kitchen rules.”
Renowned chef and food writer Rachel Allen and Michelin Star restaurateur Glynn Purnell will join forces as the new judging duo.
My Kitchen Rules UK launched last summer on Channel 4 and versions of it play in more than 160 countries.
Rachel Allen said: “I’m delighted to be hosting the new series of My Kitchen Rules UK with the amazingly talented Yummy Brummie, Glynn Purnell. We’ll be judging some of the UK’s best home chefs who think they’ve got what it takes to win the grand prize.
“If you’ve got a foodie dream, then this is your chance. We’re looking for pairs of contestants who have a burning ambition to cook great food and impress not only Glynn and I, but a host of celebrity guest judges that will be joining us throughout the competition.”
Glynn Purnell adds: “My Kitchen Rules is an absolutely brilliant TV showcase for amateur chefs who are passionate about food. I couldn’t be more excited to be part of it and I’m thrilled to be alongside my fellow judge and host Rachel Allen, a highly respected culinary leading lady. I can’t wait to get started!”
For many of last year’s contestants, the competition proved to be a springboard for new culinary ventures and career changes.
