[dropcap type=”circle”]D[/dropcap]etectives are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at the Harvest Mouse pub on Pensby Road.
In the early hours of this morning at 12.35am officers were called to the pub in response to reports that three males had entered the premises and demanded cash.
All the males had their faces covered with scarves. Two were dressed in black and one was wearing a blue jacket. It is believed they may have been armed with a shotgun.
The males stole a quantity of cash, which was placed in an orange Sainsbury’s carrier bag. They then made their escape over a rear wall of the pub towards Irby Road.
No customers were in the premises at the time. Three members of staff were present. Thankfully no-one was injured but all were left badly shaken by their ordeal.
An investigation is currently underway and CCTV and house-to-house enquiries are ongoing in the local area.
Detective Inspector Mike Dalton said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Pensby Road who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously, either earlier in the evening or around the time of the robbery, to contact us.
“None of the members of staff were injured during this incident but were understandably left shaken up by their ordeal and I want to reassure the community that we are committed to finding the people responsible for committing this crime and bringing them to justice.
“I would appeal to anyone who believes they have any information which could assist with the investigation to contact us on 0151 777 2263 or the Crimestoppers line anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
