[dropcap type=”circle”]T[/dropcap]hough The Black Horse in Lower Heswall is still in deserted darkness there’s good news from Pensby Road where the Harvest Mouse pub has reopened to reveal the results of a six figure investment by owners Greene King.

Five new jobs have also been created in the process.

The Mayor of Wirral, Councillor Pat Hackett, cut the ribbon to welcome a significant transformation.

The pub has been given a thorough makeover, introducing a lighter colour scheme, signature pieces of furniture and fresh, contemporary flooring.

The bar has also been completely revamped, with the introduction of an extended selection of local and national ales, and world beers.

4k TVs have been installed throughout, and subscriptions to Sky Sports and BT Sport mean that if you enjoy a pint and the Premier League the Harvest Mouse could be a sensible choice of boozer to enjoy live sport.

In addition, the food offering has been enhanced with the pub unveiling a new menu that features dishes such as jerk chicken and slow cooked pork belly.

Harvest Mouse general manager, Sue Howarth, said: “The opening was a real success with great feedback on the delicious new menu and the fantastic interiors. We’re extremely pleased to be able to offer even better surroundings to both our loyal and new guests alike.

“My team and I look forward to welcoming more guests to the Harvest Mouse in the coming weeks.”
