A past Captain of Heswall Golf Club has got on his bike and raised £8000 for Wirral Hospice St John’s.

On July 20 Peter Lees swapped fairways for open roads and, with the weather on his side, set off from London for Paris. In just under 4 days he completed more than 320 miles to reach his destination.

Peter says, “The generosity and support from the members of Heswall Golf Club, along with visitors and the local community, has helped me raise a fantastic £8000 in sponsorship. I am truly grateful.”

Peter was inspired by Lady Captain, Alice Rogers, who is a keen supporter of the hospice.

Wirral St John’s provides free care and support to adult patients with life-limiting illnesses including cancer, heart, liver and kidney disease, respiratory and neurological conditions, whilst also providing care and support for families, carers and loved ones.

Thanks to Peter’s dedicated pedalling Alice was able to present a cheque that was large in more ways than one.

It’s not too late to make a donation and add to the £8000. If you would like to please click or tap here.
