Merseyside Police is investigating following a serious road traffic collision in Heswall last night.
At around 7.35pm emergency services were called to Telegraph Road in response to reports that a red Hyundai i20 car had been in collision with a 17-year-old female pedestrian.
The pedestrian sustained a head injury and was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.
Her condition is described as critical.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is helping police with enquiries.
Telegraph Road was reopened at around 1.30 this morning.
