[dropcap type=”circle”]M[/dropcap]erseyside Police is appealing for information following a burglary in Brimstage Village in the early hours of Friday 26 August.
At approximately 12.30am unknown offenders entered the grounds of The Brimstage Maze on Brimstage Road and forced entry to three buildings.
They then stole a quantity of ‘Lazer-Tag’ guns together with a large petrol engine lawn mower and a mobile phone.
Extensive damage was also caused during the burglary.
The 12 ‘Lazer-Tag’ guns are not real weapons. They are used to play laser games and those stolen include one small silver pistol-style ‘ref’s gun’, two large black carbine assault rifle-style guns and nine smaller carbine assault rifle-style guns with either blue, red or black bodies.
Detective Inspector Gary Stratton said: “Brimstage Maze is a very popular local tourist attraction and people travel from far and wide to visit it. The Lazer-tag guns are harmless but could easily be mistaken for real firearms. They are not very common and therefore if anyone is offered them for sale locally there is every chance that they belong to Brimstage Maze. I would appeal to anyone in the local area who saw anyone acting suspiciously around Brimstage Road, has any information about the burglary or thinks they have been offered the guns for sale to contact us.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Merseyside Police on 0151 777 2263 or the Crimestoppers line anonymously on 0800 555 111.
