[dropcap type=”circle”]I[/dropcap]t may seem to rain in Wirral every other day but the festival season at home and abroad is well underway.
Whether you’re braving the British weather or heading to an overseas festival, you’ll need a hairstyle that’s carefree, playful and adaptable to adverse conditions.
Here are my top three style tips for perfect festival hair this summer.
Flower crowns are out this season – however, hair accessories have had their fair share of exposure on the catwalk. Colourful headbands, ribbons and hair clips can all act as simple tools to transform any style and whether your hair is long, short, curly or straight, it’s time to get creative.
Braids are top of the style file for many this summer, and whilst celebrities such as Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne have helped braids soar in popularity, we’ve also seen brands including TIGI run braid bars at festivals such as Coachella. Working a braid into your look doesn’t have to be complicated and whilst a full braided crown looks great, simple plaits are a casual alternative that can be useful for controlling unwashed hair.
For those that prefer to keep hair loose and feminine, dry shampoo should be at the top of your festival hair shopping list. Dry shampoo is great for absorbing natural oils between shampoos and will add texture and fullness to unwashed hair. Lack of electricity at a festival may rule our hair wands and curling tongs, but a quick way to add texture and waves to your hair is to braid or plait the hair prior to arrival. Once taken out, shake the hair to loosen curls, spray with hairspray and you’re ready to go.
